Charter Yacht Reservations

Charter yachts are invited to operate from North Cove.  But before doing pick-ups and drop-offs at North Cove, charter yachts must complete this 2 step registration process.

1) Provide Relevant Certificates
North Cove requires charter yachts to provide 4 items before making a reservation.   You may fax these to 212-786-1743.  These items are:
A. Current Certificate of Documentation.
B. Current USCG Certificate of Inspection.C. Proof of Insurance with Commercial General Liability of $3 million or greater ($1 million for smaller vessels).
D. Insurance certificates showing the following entities named as additional insured:
    i) North Cove Marina Management, Inc., 385 South End Ave #7G, New York, NY 10280
ii) Battery Park City Authority, 1 World Financial Center 24Fl, New York, NY 10281
iii) Battery Park City Parks Conservancy, 2 South End Ave, New York, NY 10280

2) Understand North Cove Charter Yacht Rules
North Cove is in a residential setting.  The marina has rules for charter boats so that you understand the expectations of the marina and surrounding community.  By sharing this information, we hope to create a welcoming and friendly environment in which local residents and charter boat companies can all succeed.

  1. Noise - North Cove is in a residential setting.  Yachts must not generate any noise after 10 p.m.  If your yacht generates noise complaints from residents, your privileges at North Cove will be limited or suspended.  When returning to the marina, please turn your music off or very low before approaching the entrance.  Other sources of unwanted noise are engines at high rpms when entering, leaving or docking, late night horns and singing passengers (if you get them in too good of a mood and they make loud noise when walking home, it's still your responsibility).
  2. Food or Drink on Esplanade - The esplanade surrounding North Cove is public park land.  Passengers should not take food or drink off yachts to the esplanade.  When disembarking passengers, yachts should station one crew to check passengers do not leave with food or drink.
  3. Pick Up & Drop Off of Passengers Only - Charter boats are permitted to use North Cove for the pick-up and drop-off of passengers only.  If you wish to use the marina for any other business purpose such as fashion or advertising shoots which use the marina background, displays of banners or advertising, or anything else, you must first explain your purpose to North Cove and request written permission.
  4. Garbage & Cargo - North Cove is registered with the USCG as a public access facility.  No cargo from visiting boats can be loaded or off-loaded at North Cove.  Yachts must load their food before arriving at the marina.  If you have a problem complying with this regulation, please send a written note to North Cove explaining the circumstances and requesting a review.  Yachts are not allowed to offload any garbage at North Cove.  You must keep all garbage onboard and return with it to your home marina.
  5. Staff Overtime Fees - The marina is staffed from 9 a.m. until 10 p.m.  However, to accommodate charters which start before or extend after these times, North Cove will keep staff on duty.  There is an overtime fee of $55 per hour before 8 a.m. and after 10 p.m.  Fees are billed in hourly increments with any part of an hour constituting an hour.

Deposit, Cancellation and Refund Policy - North Cove operates like a boutique hotel.  There are only a limited number of slips.  When we reserve a slip for you, we are guaranteeing to have that slip available for you on the day your request.  We do not double book slips.  Therefore it is important that yachts arrive and depart exactly as per their reservations.  A 50% deposit is required to confirm a reservation.  If you cancel a reservation more than 30 days in advance, we will refund your full deposit less a $50 processing fee.  If you cancel a reservation between 7 and 30 days, we will refund half your deposit.  If you cancel a reservation within the final 7 days, you will not receive your deposit back.  No cancellations are accepted within the final 48 hours.  If you fail to cancel a reservation and do not show, you will be charged as if you used the slip.
