Scout

LOA: 72'

Scout was launched in 1930 and was originally named the "Cormar".

When launched, the boat had twin gasoline engines with a maximum hull speed of 21 knots.  She has subsequently been outfitted with twin Yanmar diesel engines and has a maximum speed of 16-19 knots.

Scout was built by DeFoe Boat and Motor Works in Bay City, Michigan.  She is mahogany on oak and from a Eldredge-McInnis classic commuter design.

The boat was renamed "Olympic Scout" in 1955.  Eventually the name was shortened to just "Scout".

The boat has had 5 owners since being built.  In 2003, she was restored by McMillen Boatworks in Newport, Rhode Island.

After her restoration she was used by McMillen as one of its fleet of charter boats before being sold to a private owner.

Scout spends most of the summertime between Newport, Rhode Island and Sag Harbor, New York.
